We believe that due to the fact that America had promised freedom initially, we should stop restricting immigration to the United States entirely. We understand that there can be specific problems that could easily be caused by too much immigration, but we shouldn't exclude it. Especially since the Declaration of Independence specifically states that (1) "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness"
By having a population that is not excluding to anyone, we can get more or even change our views or opinions on things, we would also be able to correct other nations, such as when a nation commits an act of violence towards its people, if those people come to the United States, it could possibly change the way that the leader of the other nation thinks. Unfortunately however, there are some downsides to increased immigration. By having an increased population, we also lose space for expansion. We also lose a major amount of jobs and opportunities. And by having more people spending our money, we also lose income, which could also cause unemployment because of smaller income for companies.
Our opinion is that no person should ever be denied freedom by anyone, especially if we're promised to be born with freedom.
We also think that we should choose to embrace such a diverse population of people that we grow up with. There should be no reason why anyone should be denied access to the United States based on ethnicity, color, place of birth, etc. The concept of limiting immigration doesn't make sense for a nation that claimed to have and embrace (2) "freedom of speech, religion, assembly, and petition among all individuals as granted by the U.S." We believe that this means that everyone (Not just in America) deserves the rights that we have in this country. However, some countries do not allow these rights. Therefore it is our duty to give these rights to those who they are not given.
Regardless of language, color, race, ethnicity, Etc, we firmly believe that we should practice what we preach. Instead of holding immigrants outside of our boarders, we should allow anyone who wishes to come into the country. We came from a country that wanted to control us. We began our country with the intention of having an equal and diverse nation. We created the documents (Such as the Declaration) to state our intentions and reasons for creating the country that we live in now. As part of the freedoms that we gave to citizens, we also claimed that we would also accept anyone who wanted citizenship, and that everyone is entitled to it. so why are times any more different? In our opinion, things aren't different. So we should allow people to enter the United States without restrictions.
